If your Solana token isn't appearing in your wallet, there are several common causes. This guide covers the most frequent issues and how to fix them quickly.
Most Common Causes
The majority of "token not showing" issues stem from a few simple problems:
Solutions
Add Token Manually
Wallets don't automatically detect new tokens. You must add them manually using the mint address. Here's how:
- Open your wallet (Phantom, Solflare, etc.)
- Find "Add Token", "Import Token", or "Manage Token List"
- Enter your token's mint address (the address received after creation)
- Verify the token details match (name, symbol, decimals)
- Confirm - the token should appear
If you don't have the mint address, check the transaction confirmation or block explorer (Solscan) where you created the token.
Check Your Balance
Some wallets hide tokens with zero balance. If you created a token but haven't received any tokens yet, it might not appear.
To see zero-balance tokens in Phantom, go to Settings and enable "Show Zero Balances". Other wallets have similar options in their settings menus.
If you should have tokens but the balance shows zero, verify the transaction completed successfully on Solscan.
Verify the Mint Address
Double-check you're using the correct mint address. Mint addresses are long base58 strings that look similar, so it's easy to make a typo.
You can verify the mint address on Solscan by searching for your wallet address and checking the tokens associated with it. The mint address should match exactly.
Check Network Settings
Ensure your wallet is connected to the correct network. If you created your token on Solana mainnet, your wallet must be on mainnet to see it. If you created it on devnet, you need to switch to devnet.
Most token creation platforms use mainnet by default. Check your wallet's network setting (usually in Settings or the network selector) and ensure it matches where you created the token.
Metadata Issues
If the token appears but shows no name, symbol, or logo, there's likely a metadata problem. This can happen if:
- Metadata wasn't uploaded during token creation
- Metadata URI is incorrect or inaccessible
- Metadata format doesn't match the standard
You can verify metadata on Solscan by viewing your token's page. If metadata is missing, you may need to recreate the token with proper metadata. Learn more about token metadata.
Refresh or Reconnect
Sometimes wallets need a refresh to detect new tokens. Try:
- Refreshing the wallet interface
- Disconnecting and reconnecting your wallet
- Clearing the wallet cache (if the option exists)
- Restarting the browser or app
Check Token Creation Status
Verify that your token creation transaction actually completed. Go to Solscan and search for your wallet address or the transaction signature you received.
If the transaction failed or is still pending, the token won't exist yet. Check the transaction status and wait for confirmation if it's still processing.
Wallet-Specific Notes
Different wallets handle tokens slightly differently:
Phantom
Usually reliable. Check Settings for "Show Zero Balances" if the token doesn't appear after adding the mint address.
Solflare
May require manual token addition. Check the token management section within the wallet settings.
Mobile Wallets
Some mobile wallets have delayed token detection. Try pulling down to refresh the asset list.
Hardware Wallets
Ensure the Solana app is installed and updated on the device. Connect through a compatible software wallet.
Still Not Working?
If none of these solutions work:
- Verify the token exists on Solscan using the mint address
- Check that you're using a supported wallet (see our wallet support guide)
- Ensure your wallet software is up to date
- Try a different wallet to see if the issue is wallet-specific
If the token appears on Solscan but not in your wallet, the issue is likely with wallet configuration rather than the token itself.
